BTC Thermoelectric Controller

The BTC Thermoelectric Controller is designed to provide temperature control for a variety of common Thermoelectric applications. The controller provides single action control which can be used for either heating control or for cooling control. A resistive probe sensor is provided to be used as temperature feedback. The controller can be used as a desktop controller or can be wall or panel mounted.

The BTC controller accepts either a 12 VDC or a 24 VDC input. A relay contact inside the unit provides switching control output to the external TEC module. The relay can switch up to 5 amps of DC current.

The BTC controller is ideal for basic temperature control of most TEC applications including cold plates, space coolers, and refrigeration units.

Operating Instructions

1. The controller can be mounted to a surface using the flange on the controller body (Item B), or used as a table top controller.

2. Connect feedback temperature sensor (Item A) to the TEC module. The temperature sensor should be located such that it correctly senses the space or surface to be controlled.

3.Connect the controller to the power supply and TEC module as shown in Figure 1.

4.Provide input power to the red connection lead (Item C) using the values and polarity shown in Table 2. The input voltage can be provided by the same power supply that is used to power the TEC assembly.

5.The controller display (Item D) shows the actual temperature in degrees Fahrenheit measured by the temperature sensor (Item A).

6. To change the setpoint, press the SET button. The current setpoint will be displayed. Press the up or down arrow buttons to change the setpoint to the desired value.

7. To return the display to show the actual temperature, simultaneously press the SET button and the down arrow button. The display will also switch from setpoint to live temperature mode automatically after a few seconds.
